About this geek life blog home decor image with candle and controller

This Geek Life was created around the phrase “living your geek life”. But it doesn’t mean to surround yourself with geek things.

Instead, it’s more about building a life where the stories that shaped you quietly shape the way you live.

This Geek Life is a cozy lifestyle blog for geeks who want to build lives that reflect the stories they love – through subtle and stylish homes, thoughtfully curated collections, geek and chic fashion, and quiet creativity.

It’s not about hiding your fandom or displaying it everywhere. It’s about letting it become part of the way you live.

This Geek Life About Fern the Geek Image

I’m Fern (the Geek), and I’ve spent years trying to figure out how fandom and adulthood coexist. I’m an artist, gamer, writer, and a fan with a deep love for the stories and worlds that have stayed with me over time.

This Geek Life grew out of my own journey of learning how to carry those things with me into adulthood in a way that felt natural… and true to who I am.

For a long time, it felt like there was an expectation to outgrow the things I loved. To leave certain interests behind in order to be taken seriously or to fit into a more “grown-up” version of life.

But over time, I realized something quieter and far more meaningful: I didn’t need to outgrow my geekiness—I just needed to evolve the way I lived it.

Now, I see those interests not as something separate from everyday life, but as something that can be woven into it—through creativity, personal style, the spaces we create, and the small, intentional choices that make life feel more like our own.

This space is a reflection of that belief. A place where creativity, comfort, and the things we love are not only welcomed—but valued.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Becoming an adult or being a professional doesn’t mean leaving imagination behind.

I believe home should reflect who you are.

Quiet joy matters.

I believe creativity belongs in everyday life.

And I believe fandom can grow with us.
